TITLE Hong Kong Old Tenement Buildings MEDIUM Chinese Delineative Painting on Chinese Paper DIMENSIONS (IN CM) 35cm x 92cm YEAR 2016 DESCRIPTION I transcend my interest in Hong Kong Old Tenement Buildings to a Delineative Painting of a joyful combination of these lovely architectures. My building is built up by different cubes of Old Tenement Buildings. For example the Wo Cheong Pawn Shop at the bottom left corner is a Tenement Building at Wan Chai Johnston Road. I chose to paint it in it's original colour as it feels closer to me. As a Hong Konger, I love painting local Tenement Buildings and Squatters more than our Landmark Skyscrapers. https://www.cliftonsartprize.com/2016/winners |
